ARO Belt. A Belt with a difference....

 ARO Belt.

Simply Safer.

Product Test Review on the Light belt by ARO
  "ARO BELT SIMPLY SAFER"

So what is an Aro belt?
It is a very cleverly designed belt that fits around your waist or could be worn diagonally across the body, it has reflective strips and is adjustable to fit any size.  Oh and before I forget it the most important part is, that it has LED Light's that flash on one setting, and will stay on permanently on the other setting.
This can be recharged from your laptop or mobile phone charger.

The first thing I noticed was the Box it came in!
It was massive!

Information card

The Aro Belt has two adjustable straps that can be adjusted from 105cm to 127cm in length.

Plastic buckle is nice and solid

Nice smooth design.

A really good design feature of this belt is the rechargeable battery,  you have up to 12 hours in fixed mode or 8 hours in the flash mode, so plenty of battery life for those long distance rides.
On the bottom of the battery box you will find a little flap, lift this and there you will find the usb connection, insert the supplied cable and plug into your PC.

Once connected to the PC a Red light will come on by the side of the cable to let you know it is charging.

Once charged up the ARO Red light turns to Green, so simply unplug the usb cable, close the cap and you are ready to wear the belt.

Nice and bright.

To turn the ARO Belt on simply slide the switch,

Nice bright Led's

Here is a short video of the ARO Belt
I don't usually do review videos but the way that the ARO Belt works it is easier to show it's full potential with a quick video.

Will be updating as soon as I have more photos

What is the conclusion

A well thought out and designed LED Belt.
Great that it is fully adjustable to fit different waist sizes.
Easy to charge and with no fiddling about having to buy and replace battery's every time it runs out of power.

UPDATE 12/12/2015

Since I have been wearing the Aro on the night rides I have not had to charge it up once yet!
So I thought it was time to do so just in case, better to be safe than sorry!

Just a case of getting the USB lead out and plug it in the laptop, only took a short time to fully charge!
Well recommend the Aro Belt.

Wind Blox

My Product review is on the Wind Blox

"What on earth are Wind Blox's"

Very easy to describe they are a soft shell you attach to the side straps of your cycle helmet to cut down on wind noise!

I had two sets on review, one set is ideal for night time riding as are visible in the dark, and the other set at little more discreet for the day!

The Idea for the Wind Blox came from the USA.

Basically they attach by the Velcro insets, to your cycle helmet straps close to the ear and that is how simple they are to fit, in place they help stop the noise of the wind as you cycle, all very clever stuff. You can still hear any traffic coming closer from behind, and you will also be able to chat to your cycling buddy instead of keep yelling!

Wind Blox

To be honest it has taken me a while to make the Wind Blox work, at first I thought they were a complete utter waste of time! The things just did not work!
Why?
I had been trying them on a mountain bike helmet to start with, no success in noise reduction what so ever!
I then got fed up with them, put them away and forgot about them for a while.........
Until a windy day came up on a ride and I thought I would give them another try!
This time I had them fitted to my road cycling helmet, and guess what...
THEY WORK!
how come...
It was all in the way the straps were on the two different cycling helmets, the road one being in a slightly different place, and a lot more tighter as well, so when the Wind Blox were fitted they sat closer to the ear!

On the road cycle helmet the straps sit much closer to the ears making a better fit for the Wind Blox

 Nice and snug.

Rear strap needs to be adjusted.

You could alway turn around the Wind Blox

All in the right place....

Out on a ride they worked a treat! I could hear the conversation better than if I was not wearing them!.

Take a look at their Website, they come in different colours, but to be honest would recommend the Black pair! a little more discreet until your friends get used to you wearing them!.

As you can see they have every aspect of the web covered!

Hard to convince you all that the Wind Blox work, but they Do!
It is a hard claim that they stop 80% of wind noise, but the Wind Blox make the ride a lot less noisy!  .

Get in Gear Ladies Cycle Jersey size 12

A stylish Ladies Cycle Jersey from the designs of Get in Gear!

The size I had [not for me mind you!] was a ladies size 12, this was the size I was told to order by a lady cyclist friend of mine who was going to model it for us, as she is a standard dress size 12.
She found it came up a bit on the snug side, so I would recommend ordering a size above your normal dress size, Get in Gear do advise this on their website "The women's jerseys are of a racing cut so please keep in mind that this means that they are are on the slim side."

Please bear this in mind when ordering.

The design is fresh and bright, the quality of the printing is top draw, superb quality with no bleed over, the printing is not harsh and hard but feels natural to the touch, as if it woven into the fabric.
The screen printing is the best I have seen, in either mens or ladies, that includes some of the best known manufactures of Race-wear.

Three deep pockets are ample size to keep your extra nutrition in.
Rounded and also reinforced.

 Quality Screen Print.

A flexible quarter zip that fits up to the neck with a overlapping cover to stop the zip from catching the skin.

The quarter front zip, ran smoothly with no snags on the review jersey.

Quoted on the Get in Gear website, they say "the Jersey is so light",  and this is true, every person who has felt it, their first comment has been,
"My god isn't it light"!
Which also makes it super-breathable.
The Get in Gear Jersey comes with a Silicone hem gripper to keep the waistband firmly in place.

First thought's on the Get in Gear Ladies Jersey.

It is an extremely light jersey.
Great stand out design.
Great breathable material.
First class zip.
Nice deep rear pockets which are curved and reinforced.
But most importantly the quality of the manufacture is fantastic.

It came to me nicely packaged and the jersey was neatly wrapped in tissue paper.

Lets see what it looks like on a Lady cyclist then!

 Looks really nice!
It certainly makes you to stand out!

Loads of room in the curved reinforced rear pockets.

Thanks to Gina for trying this out, I could not have done this product review with out you.
[Well I could but I am more a 16 than a 12 !]

So Thank you Gina and also a Great big Thank you to Get in Gear team for letting us do this review for you.
I was really impressed with the styling and design, in fact everything about this Jersey has impressed not only me but also everyone who has seen it, if  Get in Gears Children and Men's jerseys are in the same class as this one, they are onto a "Winner" and I have no qualms about completely recommending their Cycle wear to any of you cycling folk out there.
If you want to treat yourself or family member to a top grade jersey take a look at there website, it could be one of the best things you ever buy.
Get in Gear do a superb line in Children's cycle wear, so if you have a budding Wiggins, Froome or Cavendish, click on to their web site for the newest designs, and quality products.

In conclusion

What our lady cyclist had to say about the jersey after riding the Sportive UK Tour de Essex

The shirt was very comfortable though a little tight, it was very light and it stayed dry even though it was really warm out.

  Stockists

How well the Get In Gear Jersey looks out on the road!
Gina has just finished the Tour De Essex Sportive ride.
Think you all have to agree she does look good in the Jersey!

Tyre Lever Challenge 2015

 Tyre Lever Challenge 2015

I am setting up a Challenge to find out which make and model of Tyre lever is the "Best Cycling Tyre Lever" on the market today for your money?

I shall be approaching bike suppliers and manufacturer's to see if they think their Tyre Levers are "The Best" on the market.

They will be judged on many different criteria including, strength, flexibility, size and not forgetting cost!

Why am I doing this? because a few days ago I went to change a tyre on my mountain bike and the tyre levers I had [practically new] broke, and I ended up using some old spoons! [for those of you who remember this way from years gone by]  your mums cutlery draw always had several bent spoons, or more likely several missing!
Do you know of a make that you feel would be up to the job!
Let me know.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4U_6wU64qYI

Could this be the King of Levers!

Some of the levers  up to the Challenge!

Tell me what your favorite lever is and I will try to add it to the 2015 Tyre Levers challenge.
